This book, Jess & Co, was written by John Joy Bell, abbreviated as J.J.B or JJ Bell. It was published by The Copp Clark Co Limited in 1904 in Toronto, Canada.
As publicized on the front cover of the book, J.J.B. was also the author of Wee Macgreegor. JJ Bell, born 1871and died 1934, was a Scottish journalist and author who penned more than 30 books.

The hard cover book is a deep ruby red color with tan and black letters on the front and spine. Also on the front cover is an image of an anguished old man holding a plank of wood.
Found on the inside first page is an inscription in black cursive ink wishing someone a happy christmas, “Xmas 1904”.
The cover and spine of this book are still in tact, although they have lost some coloring due to age. The 285 pages are in good condition with no tears, creases or folds, although a few pages have come loose from the binding. The pages have yellowed due to being more than 100 years old.
It measures 5.25” wide x 7.25” tall x 1” deep and weighs 8 ounces before packaging.
