RARE! MID CENTURY SAN FRANCISCO TROLLEY CABLE CAR BELL CERAMIC/POTTERY BY SNCO IMPORTS
Rare! hard to find piece
Excellent condition, except for a couple of minuscule losses of paint when it probably has hit something else during its 60+ years of life and it’s taken a teeny, almost unnoticeable, bit of its paint. You can see these if you enlarge our pictures, but again they’re tiny.
Vintage ceramic made piece, made by SNCO in Japan; still has the original foil sticker with "SNCO Imports San Francisco Japan."
The yoke, headstock, or in everyday terms....the thing you hold onto to ring it is a trolley car, something that no one forgets the sight of if you’ve been to San Francisco. It’s amazing to watch as the San Francisco Powell Market Hyde Beach Streetcar Trolley #514 make its way up and down the steep hills found there, which is another thing that is illustrated on the waist or the body of the bell, as well as beautiful architecture that can be found there, including the thing everyone thinks of when they think of San Francisco, standing out in a faded crimson red color, the Golden Gate bridge. .
The entire bell is a green infused honey mustard color with a bit of red, like that of this era’s majolica type glaze
Original ceramic clanger is still holding tight and ringing true.
