1960s-1970s AMBER RIBBED STEMMED FRENCH ROEMER LUMINARC WINE OR CORDIAL GLASS ROEMER
Made by J.G. Durand Luminarc of Verrerie Cristallerie d’Arques, a glass company that started in 1958 in France.
Glass is in excellent condition, except for a tiny bit of gold loss around the rim of the glass. You can see it in the pictures but you really have to look.
Glass features an amber concentric circular ribbed thick stem and a pretty grapevine pattern etched into the clear top.
This glass is also referred to as a “roemer” because the Romans first brought the grapevines to Germany a long time ago. In Germany the Roemer is the usual toasting glass. They are also used in France for the same purpose.
Glass measures 2.75" diameter x 5.5" tall deep and holds four ounces.
