VINTAGE JAY WILLFRED, ANDREA BY SADEK CERAMIC WHEAT TEAPOT WITH LID
This vintage teapot was made by Andrea by Sadek (aka Charles Sadek Import Company or J. Willfred). This company is based in New Rochelle, New York.
This piece was manufactured in the Philippines.
The shape and design of this teapot is very unique. The teapot is shaped like a bundle of wheat stalks tied together with a ribbon. The top quarter of the teapot has the grains part of the stalks and the bottom three-quarters is ribbed with the stick part of the stalks. The spout is also designed to look like wheat stalks.
Around the stalks is a bright cobalt blue “ribbon”. The handle, which has a woven design, is also cobalt blue.
On the lid, there are a bunch of raised dots that gives it a cool texture. The lid, main part, and spout are all a yellowish orange color.
Featured on the bottom is the number 80475, a sticker with the place of manufacture and company name on it, and 3 grippy dots.
This teapot is in excellent condition! There are no chips, cracks or scratches, but a couple spots of crazing can be found on the outside and inside of the lid, as well as on the very bottom.
It measures 7” wide from spout to handle (5” diameter of the base) x 7” tall and weighs 1.5 pounds before packaging.
